Abstract: Gifted clients of all ages present unique challenges and opportunities for the counselor. The gifted client may present as self-aware and articulate while utilizing their gifted traits to mask their struggles. Participants will learn to recognize and reframe these traits to better understand the clinical presentation of high intelligence clients.

Learning Objectives:
  • Participants will learn about traits associated with giftedness, including asynchronous development
  • Participants will learn to identify elements of client presentation that may go unnoticed
  • Participants will be introduced to options for therapeutic modifications for gifted clients of all ages
